osTicket v1.18.3 / v1.17.7 Available
We’re happy to announce the release of osTicket v1.18.3, which includes several updates we recommend applying to your helpdesk. This release delivers important security updates, general bug fixes, and continued compatibility with PHP 8.3 and 8.4.
For full details on what’s changed, including improvements and fixes, please review the complete release notes.
Requirements
To use modern email authentication, the OAuth2 Plugin is required. Please note that this release supports PHP versions 8.2 through 8.4.
We’ve published step-by-step guides for configuring both OAuth Authorization and OAuth Authentication on our documentation site to help with setup.
Upgrading Your Helpdesk
Note: Before upgrading osTicket, confirm that your server’s PHP version is supported. All osTicket versions v1.17 and newer require PHP 8.2–8.4.
You can follow our upgrade guide for detailed instructions on updating an existing helpdesk. New users can download osTicket and proceed using the installation guide.
Be sure to update any installed plugins and language packs as part of the upgrade process.
Note: The OAuth2 Plugin must be installed to take advantage of modern authentication features.
If managing your osTicket environment has become time-consuming, consider switching to osTicket as a hosted service. We can even migrate data from your existing installation. With SupportSystem’s fully managed infrastructure, you get a secure, stable osTicket setup—without the overhead of ongoing maintenance—so you can stay focused on supporting your customers.
Maintenance Releases
For users who are not ready to move to the latest feature release, we strongly recommend upgrading to the current maintenance release, v1.17.7. This update addresses security vulnerabilities present in earlier versions. These same fixes are also included in v1.18.3.
