I have recently upgraded to 1.6st and now my POP3 fetch from gmail has ceased working. It now returns the error "too many login failures". I have tried the following: - Enable firewall outbound for TCP port 995; - Reset the gmail password, and re-enter into OST; - Check settings; - Verify the credentials work with outlook; - Switch to IMAP; - Echo the credentials being passed in class.mailfetch.php, all are ok; - Edit the details directly in the database. I am at a loss. SMTP is fine, as this runs via a localhost mail server provided by plesk. Can anyone help? I did try a suggestion of removing "/no-validatedcert" from mailfetch, but this made no difference. Thanks, Rob Last edited by uk52rob; 04-29-2012 at 06:17 AM. |

Finally found the issue in Thunderbird's forum, and well worth noting for reference.
Multiple sign-in failures trigger a 'captcha' lockout. This does not stop you from logging in to the account via the Gmail site, nor does it present you with any message informing you of the situation. To unlock your Gmail account, sign in via the Gmail site and then enter the link below. Bizarrely, it does not even ask you to complete a 'captcha' verification! https://accounts.google.com/UnlockCaptcha Rob |
