Question Modification Upgrade

Hi,

I have some doubt in Upgrade, I'm doing some coding and modifications on OSTicket, I have done some hard codes in OST.

The doubt is, What happen to my hard coded modification when I upgrade to the newer version?? Will all those lines of codes will be deleted?? What I have to do if I want all my codes to be retained even after Upgrade??

Pls help Its Urgent.. M confused

Unfortunately, all of your existing MODs will be deleted after you upgrade it to the latest version (1.6 ST).

You should re-apply all of those MODs after you upgrade it to the latest version. CMIIW.

So you mean that its better to write all those codes in another new page created by me & calling it there will be good?? The how can I call the form field in the edit page from external file??

M very confused
