IMAP Attachment Bug
IMAP Attachment Bug

When receiving tickets from some hosts the attachments would not be created. After investigating this I found that the culprit in my case was

Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="ap_science_blast.txt"; size=1650;
creation-date="Mon, 23 May 2011 09:22:40 GMT";
modification-date="Mon, 23 May 2011 09:22:40 GMT"

I kept manually sending the ticket using telnet and eventually I removed the 'creation-date' line and then the attachments showed up. I continued for 4 hours after this trying to devise a way to remove this from the headers before the attachments were made hoping to get around this issue. I was never successful and eventually returned to google where someone had a similar issue though not exact. The recommended answer to them was to switch from imap fetching to pop fetching. I did this and immediately all attachments came in just fine.

It would appear to me that osTickets (1.6RC5 at least) has a problem with attachments fetched via IMAP when particular headers are present. I am presently unable to test on a 1.6ST install but can easily send along emails from a source that has issues sending to IMAP fetched accounts.

I don't know if this is related, I am new to OsT. I've come across a problem where if the file name is long (or maybe has certain characters involved not sure yet) that attachments are missing in OsT but are present in the actual IMAP inbox via Thunderbird. I'm guessing somewhere along the line the attached file is renamed, as it's copied to a folder pre defined in the settings, and wherever that happens may be where the problem arises. I'm so busy at the moment that I haven't time to reverse engineer the code so I can't tell you much more for the moment.

... in addition to the above the file named "1Logo Aug 2010 copy - full.jpg" failed on 1.6 via IMAP.
