I'd like to be able to assign certain users to more than one department, so that they see tickets from all those departments. What I am going to have to do for now is make separate logins for the same real person in order that they can service different departments (which we only need to use in order to have different addresses on the outgoing emails, but is also useful to hide from the people who aren't concerned with those other departments).

osTicket already supports access across multiple departments. Just make sure the group the staff member is assigned to has access to all desired departments.

I think what is beimg asked for is a toggle between one departmet and another.

For example I am in support and also an admin.

If I log in as support I can only see support messages and can not just flick a button to see all tickets to check others are doing their job correctly.

It would be extremely useful to be able to flick between departments as well.

rather like a filter.

Peter is right. :)

Just make sure the group the staff member is assigned to has access to all desired departments.

1. Create or manage a "User Group" that can access to multiple department by selecting them from "Dept Access" direction in "Admin Panel" -> "Staff" -> "User Groups".

2. Assign your staff to that "User Group", afterwards, you will see that this staff can access accross those multiple department.

3. By using this way, you don't have to create separate logins for the same real person staff in order to access multiple department.

Sincerely,

I set a usergroup (admins) to have access to all departments, however when I go to the 'departments' page in the admin area it still says 0 users for the additional departments...

What am I doing wrong?

Is this normal?
