Hey everyone,
the thing I miss most about osTicket is a means to keep track of the total (billable) amount of time spent on a ticket.

This would be great for internal record keeping as well as in commercial scenarios.

All I would need is an extra textfield shown on every occasion the ticket is edited. So every time someone worked on a ticket the time used on the case can be filled in next to the comments. Time could be measured in either minutes or predefines "time units".
The ticket summary could show the total amount of time-units spent on a ticket.
As an option the total time spent on a ticket could be shown to the user as well. This should not be the default.

If someone is already working on that, please let me know.

Best regards

This is a feature that has been suggested before also. It's perhaps a nice idea, but as far as I know it is not under development yet. Other things come first, so if you have the time and the skills... :)

I've created a solution to time tracking (amongst other items - merge tickets, other columns, status monitor, etc...)

See my web site since there's a lag in getting attachments posted.

I agree in that a few additions like a time clock and/or a cookie that tracks how long you worked on a ticket will make it a full fledged work order system. If they did a few additions everyone would probably use it and dominate the market. Another thing is like an online chat client like liveperson or even interface with AIM yahoo or googletalk would really blow away the competition. I mean it being free makes all the difference. Somebody better do it before google does lol
