I am not super technical, but I think I feel comfortable going into to modify a file.

I just installed OSTicket through Fantastico. I notice that the ticket date is set to 12/31/1969.

How and where do we modify the panel so that the date is correct?

Any help would be appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Tara

I'm a little confused of what you want to do. Because modifying a file does not seem to be a solution for this problem. The ticketdate is stored in the database, so you might look in there to change it. If you want to change the appearance of the date, look in the Admin Panel under Date & Time.

But I must say I'm curious how this date occured in your system in the first place. If you add a new ticket now, which date does it get?

You would need to upgrade to the most recent release. (This is an old issue that should be fixed now.)

I did not know this was an old issue, did not have the old versions :)

So Tara, hopefully you have indeed an older version than RC2.

I just yesterday installed osTicket via Fantastico Deluxe on my A2Hosting account. I have the same issue, the tickets created have a date of 12/31/1969. I think they provide version 1.3.1. How can I resolve this issue? Can I update osTicket myself or does A2 have to do this?

There is no possibility to upgrade from that version. What you need to do is:
* uninstall the old version
* download the latest version from this website
* install it

OK understood. No upgrades.

The part I am missing is, how do I get the new version into my hosted account with A2? I am new user on A2 Hosting so I apologize for asking what is probably very easy, but I cannot find any instructions on how to load my own applications into my account.

Or maybe a better question is, where can I find setup documentation for osTicket?

Please read: http://osticket.com/wiki/Installation. If you need any help, just ask.
