Language - official translation (.phar) is bad. How to use custom translation?

I downloaded the Norwegian .phar language file and it is working. However: the translations are really bad and many of them doesn't even make sense.

I tried to find a way to extract, edit and re-pack the .phar file but with no luck.
Now, i am trying to use the translations downloaded from the zip-file (multilanguage-file) but those doesn't seem to apply. I get the language flag but when changing to the specific language, it's still in English.

I am using 1.9.4 and need to edit the language. How can i do that?

  • You pretty much have to options.  They are:

    Option 1 -
    http://i18n.osticket.com/
    join the translation project.
    Suggest changes/edits.

    Option 2 -
extract the .phar, make your own edits.
use a custom unsupported language .phar

As a reminder, the multilanguage feature is not done, and is currently in Phase 3 [of 4].
  • @ntozier is correct.

Being a proofreader / translator myself for the German language I always welcome people who have the time and like contribute in the osTicket translation project, especially when wrong translations have been submitted by other users.
