Because osTicket thinks that a string of numbers are a ticket number not a user name.See: https://github.com/osTicket/osTicket/issues/2290
I agree with greezybacon's opinion (Aug 1, 2015). Numeric logins are pretty common in enterprise IT and even it's becoming standard in SMB.
I also agree with his opinion.
