I set up osticket for a forum that I ran for many years to offer support to the folks about 3 months ago. it working great and recently I noticed we are getting spam tickets every day. I suspect the spammer is sending it via ossupport ticket email pipe. Is there a way to tell if the ticket was submitted by online form or by email? Is there a way to block any email that does not have ticket # in the subject line or something? I don't want to block replies from tickets that was sent out to membersThank youBill
It coming from email for sure, my server is adding ***SPAM*** to all the subject line that it detected as a spam mail.Is there a way to block all those email with ***SPAM*** from being added as a osticket
Yes you can create a ticket filter based on subject line, and have it reject the ticket.
Thank you ..Does this look right? And in the Filter Action I set to reject ticket.
I attacked a screenhot of my setting but it didn't take hold
Click on Filter Actions tab.Because that filter does nothing with out a filter action.
I did added reject in the filter action tab and the spam email is still coming through
Does Email - Contains also includes subject line?Is there a way to just prevent anyone submitting a new ticket using email but still allow emails with tickets in subject line to go through?Thank you
Here what it look like when it arrive in the osticket list
Try "Ticket / Issue Summary" Starts with "***SPAM***".
