Recurring PPM tickets

Hi,

Does any one know if it is possible to create a recurring ticket for a PPM schedule so that system will create the ticket automatically every 3, 6 or 9 months for example once the initial ticket has been completed?

Thanks in advance.

  • The easiest thing would probably be to make a cron job that creates the ticket via the API.
  • Thanks for the response, please excuse my lack of knowlegde but could you be more specific as to how that would work?
  • Depending on what system you're using you would set up a scheduled task, for example on a windows server, in task scheduler you could set that the trigger is the 1st of January, April, July and October
Then your executable will be php-cgi.exe in your php directory and then you need to have php file with the api ticket request that you'll be sending into php.

Here's a guide for making api calls to create tickets https://github.com/osTicket/osTicket/blob/develop/setup/doc/api/tickets.md

Don't forget to create a api key.
  • Thanks again.
