Updating > 1.8.0 is not an option. We did a lot of custimizing for our own needs. So we have to use our 1.8.0 verion now.
If there's a solution for the above mentioned problem in versions > 1.8.0 I could have a look at it and try to patch our version.

Adding customization that results in locking you to a specific version is a huge strategic blunder.But, you may want to route your incoming osTicket emails through something that can strip the MSG attachments. If your organization is using Gmail for business, I believe that's one of their advanced filtering options. There are probably some mail scanners you could install on a mail gateway in-house, if you want--or even on the osTicket server itself, if you can use piped delivery.Jack
