The most exciting feature is a significant enhancement to the processing of email concerning matching them to the ticket thread. Previously, the email was connected by the external ticket number in the subject line, formatted specially such as . With 1.7.2, the email subject no longer needs to contain brackets, a hash sign, or the ticket number. The references and in-reply-to headers are utilized to match the emails rather than the subject line. However, matching on the external ticket number is still supported as a fallback in the event you have some really old, non-compliant client email software in use.

Downloading
If you are installing osTicket for the first time, then simply (download osTicket 1.7.2) or clone (v1.7 GitHub repository) and follow the (installation guide) on the wiki. If you are using an older version of osTicket, we highly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version - please refer to the (upgrade guide) for complete instructions.
